Hosted by OPCI, the Renal Denervation (RDN) Physician Practicum is designed to support physicians in the early stages of RDN adoption.

Program Overview

This program provides a structured, case-based learning experience that extends beyond procedural exposure to include patient selection, procedural strategy, and program implementation. Through a combination of live case observation and faculty-led discussion, participants gain practical insight into how RDN is applied in real-world clinical practice, including its role in the management of resistant and uncontrolled hypertension.

Program Objectives

Participants will develop the foundational competencies required for early RDN adoption, including:

  • Understanding the clinical evidence and appropriate positioning of RDN in hypertension management
  • Identifying appropriate patients through structured screening and selection criteria
  • Observing procedural workflow, technique, and troubleshooting in live cases
  • Reviewing post-procedural management and outcome considerations
  • Gaining insight into program development, referral pathways, and institutional alignment
  • Understanding reimbursement, access, and economic considerations
